General

Codeguage is for anyone who has gone past the learning stage and is now looking for building real skills through some rigorous practice. Essentially, the aim of Codeguage to help a programmer coerce his knowledge into real, practical skills.

Codeguage is a mixture of the words 'code' and 'language.' So as a single word, it means the 'language of code.'

Most platforms feature state-of-the-art coding environments, AI-powered bells and whistles, interview preparation kits, intricate algorithmic challenges, and whatnot.

However, most of them miss a very crucial area — providing practice material that allows a programmer to exercise fundamental ideas. This ultimately helps produce mature programmers who are willing to take and solve any complex challenge.

At Codeguage, unlike similar platforms out there, you won't find a built-in development environment/coding editor. The reason is very simple:

We as programmers anyways need to set up local development environments on our computers at the end of the day for professional work, so why not get used to it from the very beginning. Besides this, setting up the environments locally ain't as difficult and tedious as it is often painted as.

After carefully analyzing the market and what my audience was looking for — practice material that helps apply acquired knowledge — I decided to change the model of the platform, now focusing on practice material mainly.

The blog is now where I'll be sharing any learning material with my audience, in small chunks. For example, I may write an article on how to set up a Next.js project or how to work with the cluster module in Node.js, and so on.

While Codeguage is now a subscription-based website, still much content is available for free. This includes some practice material, courses (deprecated), the blog, glossary, and book reviews.
