General FAQs

Codeguage is for anyone who is new to programming or, if having some prior experience of programming, is struggling with grasping basic concepts and exercising them in building real, practical stuff.

Most platforms feature state-of-the-art coding environments, AI-powered bells and whistles, interview preparation kits, and whatnot. However, most of them miss a very crucial area — exploring the fundamentals and making people better and better at them. This is what Codeguage aims to do.

At Codeguage, unlike most sites teaching programming out there, you won't find a development environment/coding editor. The reason is very simple:

We as programmers anyways need to set up local development environments on our computers at the end of the day for professional work, so why not get used to it from the very beginning. Besides this, setting up the environments locally ain't as difficult and tedious as it is often referred to as.

If you've been a long-time user of Codeguage, you'll know that at first, I was offering everything for free here. Quizzes, exercises, question bundles — essentially everything — and funding the website based on advertisements. However, soon I realized that this wasn't going to be sustainable in the longer run as it wasn't paying me off. Plus, I also didn't like the idea of random ads showing up on my website.

Finally, I decided to shift to a subscription model, which is definitely more sustainable on my end, and equally not very difficult for an individual learner.

While Codeguage is now a subscription-based website, still much content is available for free. This includes course chapters, the blog, glossary, and book reviews.

The smart search feature allows you to search for chapters in courses using the names of given concepts. It leverages keywords that have been carefully drafted for every single chapter to help you quickly find what you're looking for.

As per the name, pre-release courses are courses released while they are still being developed, prior to the final release to the public. Only Conquer subscribers can access them.

Pre-release projects are the same thing as pre-release courses, with the obvious difference that they are projects.
